About Jeff

I am a 4th year Ph.D. student at Ohio University who studies the effects of temperature on lipid membranes in fish. I was asked to spend 7 weeks on the Antarctic continent collaborating with researchers from University of Alaska and University of Maine on a project involving fishes that lack hemoglobin (the protein responsible for moving oxygen around the body in the blood) – in other words, some of the coolest fish on the planet (no pun intended). These are my adventures on my travels through Chile, during my time on the ice, and back…  Please check back to see what we’re up to down there and ask anything you want to know about Antarctic. Enjoy!
